Skarmory Bone Study No 2 Skull

Description

This Bone Study is a close look at the skull of the Skarmory. It appears far more like that of a large reptile than a bird for several reasons. The jaw of the Skarmory opens from the bottom, not the top which is more like what traditional birds anatomy is like. The teeth are simply the grown versions of the tooth that all birds have to help them out of the egg, in the case of Skarmory the teeth develop rather than falling out and are used in self defense and hunting. The Fin on the top of the head is an aerodynamic compensation for the lack of mobility in the wings (See Bone Study No 1), it is used to assist in steering mid flight and can be used to make even more precise changes to direction than if they did have the wing mobility of traditional birds.

I always assumed that helmet was part of the skull, and apparently this is proof of it. I never realized that the teeth were actually variants of the avian egg tooth, this is a great theory to explain it. My only problem now is: How the hell do we grow those wings of steel, and why? :O_o:
